Our personalised Caravan Towing & Reversing Courses are run by one of Australia’s most experienced trainers Graham Missen. He’s had 35 years training others & has travelled more than 200,000 kms around Australia.  

Hi my name is Graham I’m Gecko’s head trainer. I started out as a motor mechanic way back in the ‘60s and have 35 years of driver training experience and 16 years working with the emergency services. I’ve attended a lot of road accidents in my career, prompting me to share my knowledge and experiences to help make our roads a safer place. 

I’ve been involved with driver training and defensive driving since 1986 educating people from all walks of life in:

Fantastic Experience – Highly Recommended
My husband and I completed this 2 part caravan towing course with Graham in May.
We have had several vans over the years but never one this wide or long.
We learned SO much theory morning. Being a small group made the experience so much more personal.
Graham and his partner made the morning fun and interesting whilst showering us with information that we needed to tow a caravan successfully.
A week later we did the practical part. I was very hesitant as I had never towed a big van to the hills and around the city. This session lasted about 4 hours.
Everything was covered from checking the van and tow vehicle to reversing and driving, including several round abouts and finally the hills.
Graham’s direction made us feel at ease whilst ensuring we were maneuvering the van correctly.
We now have so much more confidence in what we are doing which will make our trips away more enjoyable.
I would recommend any one do this course if contemplating towing and perhaps also as a refresher to eliminate some of the bad habits that are gained over time.

As first time caravanners earlier this year, & even though my husband had previously towed trailers & boats, I had never towed anything! So we felt we would both benefit from an accredited driving course in addition to all the research we had done ourselves.

Part 1 was held classroom style, & we came away with added general caravan knowledge & driving tips, and our memories refreshed on lots of road rules.

Part 2 was the actual driving lesson which we both did once we collected our caravan. We learnt so much & I came away having learnt how to tackle small roundabouts, how to do a complete U-Turn around one, driving in “manual” on inclines & declines, & how to reverse park the van! I now have the confidence to get behind the wheel, which many of my female caravanning friends refuse to do,  & my husband, even though reasonably experienced at towing, also also picked up a lot of additional tips etc.

As a result of doing this course, we both feel so much more confident about our car & van weights, hitching & unhitching, & most importantly, driving with a caravan.
